We loved the lessons in this book and the lovely images of children of all different backgrounds. The story had a beautiful way of introducing my children to unique characteristics and talents they could have as they grow. It also sparked ideas about who they may become one day. We talked about different things they like now and how they could use their interests in ways to help others. We also discussed how each of my kids is unique and no one else is just like them. This book is beautifully written with a lovely way of inspiring the imagination. -Emily, mother of four (ages 5, twin 3-yr olds and 1.5) California, MD
Ideal for bedtime reading, Dream Animals convinces children to close their eyes and discover who their dream animal might be—a fox? a bear? a narwhal?—and what dream it might take them to. With a perfect nighttime rhyme and gorgeous illustrations, this book is irresistible.
It is a dreamy storybook that invokes imagination. I think we both got lost in the pictures and imagining our own dream animals and dream worlds. It's just a beautiful book with a beautiful world to give to a child. A great bedtime book for any kid. -Amanda, mother to Holly (age 5) San Diego, CA
Emily Winfield Martin shows readers that letting their imaginations run free will lead them into fantastical daydreams. Whether cloud-gazing or wandering through a museum, reading a book or playing in a tide-pool, the children in this picture book find themselves in places inhabited by magical creatures such as dragons, unicorns, griffins, and jackalopes. A whimsical rhyme accompanies the dream-worthy illustrations.
The dreamer in your kids will love the story told and the illustrations in this book will remind parents of their childhood stories. -Sarah, mom to Sophia and Dylan (ages 8 & 5) Gulf Shores, FL
